What genres do the agents & editors want?

Use the charts linked below to help decide which agent or editor should hear your pitch. You don’t want to go through your whole spiel just to find out the agent doesn’t represent your genre!

All information is subject to change and is based on the best information available at the time. It’s wise to research your choices independently before making a final decision.

CONSULTATIONS VS. PITCHES: Several of the agents/editors are willing to do a 10-minute consultation session instead of a pitch with writers who don’t have a complete manuscript. A consultation session allows you to pick the agent’s or editor’s brain. Ask anything you want about the publishing industry, or get their advice on a project you’re working on. It’s up to you! So, you can meet with a publishing professional even if you don’t have a manuscript ready to go. Those agents are indicated in the list below. REMEMBER: Even in a consultation session, don’t pull out anything on paper unless they ask!

Once you’ve made up your mind, it’s time to sign up for your pitch or consultation session! You can do that as you register for the conference or, if you’ve already registered, you can log back in to your registration on Eventbrite and enter in your selections.
